How to View a Word Document on an iPod
- 1). Enable your iPod's disk mode. You can do this by connecting your iPod to your computer with iTunes running. Once your iPod has docked with iTunes, go into the iPod information window and check the box "Enable Disk Use." iTunes will warn you about manually disconnecting your iPod. After you've acknowledged the warning, your iPod will be able to store items on its hard drive.
- 2). Open the iPod folder in your operating system's computer panel. From the iPod folder, you can open the folder marked "Notes."
- 3). Select the Word document you want to place on your iPod. Open the document and click and drag the cursor to select all the text in the document. Right-click on the mouse, then select "Copy."
- 4). Open the Notepad program on your computer. After it opens, right-click the mouse, then select the "Paste" option to place the copied document into the window. Save this file as a .txt file on your hard drive.
- 5). Drag the new .txt file containing your document into the "Notes" folder of your iPod. Click the "Sync" button on iTunes to update your iPod.
- 6). Disconnect your iPod from the computer once the sync is complete, and open the "Extras" menu on the iPod. Open the "Notes" options to see a list of available documents. Select the document you wish to read by pressing the center button.
