Boss's Day, also known as Bosses Day and National Boss Day, is a day for you to celebrate everything positive your boss has done for you throughout the year. People traditionally celebrate the holiday on October 16. A gift that is always appropriate for this day is flowers. Because not all flowers carry the same connotations, you should pick flowers that get the symbolism of the day across. - One idea people want to convey on Boss's Day is how proud they are of all their boss has been able to accomplish. You also may want to get across that you now have personal pride because of your boss' efforts. Tiger lilies are the flower for this message. Alternatively, send amaryllis. Amaryllis symbolizes both pride and determination.
- Bosses often serve as role models. To show how much you admire your boss both personally and professionally, send light red carnations or lisianthus. Lisianthus are especially nice because they come in two different varieties -- single or double. The single lisianthus look like tulips, while the doubles look more like roses. Try pairing these with pink roses, which symbolize gratitude and appreciation.
- Bosses can lead others to enormous financial success. They also sometimes enjoy wealth because of their own hard work. Wish your boss continued prosperity or thank her for getting you out of money trouble with peonies or pink stargazer lilies. Peonies also symbolize other virtues sometimes equated with wealth, such as honor and good fortune.
- Bosses have a lot to handle on a daily basis in the workplace and therefore can have very stressful lives. For bosses who never seem to take a moment to themselves and who go beyond the call of duty to make their employees comfortable, send any blue flower. Blue flowers symbolize peace and tranquility. They also can represent trustworthiness, confidence, intelligence and unity. Try Heavenly Blue morning glories, Veronica, balloon flowers, hydrangeas or cornflower.
