Bosch Washing Machine Error Codes

    • Bosch is known for the high quality of its home appliances, and the company's washing machines are especially popular for their user-friendly interfaces. Bosch has replaced the typical error code system with a system that displays an error in sentence form, saving you the hassle of looking up the meaning of a code. You can easily solve the most common issues yourself, but if the code persists despite your best efforts, contact a repair center. Bosch is also famous for its comprehensive warranty, which you could inadvertently void by attempting in-depth repairs yourself.

    "Check Door!"

    • If the display screen is showing "Check Door!" it means the machine is sensing that the door is open. Make sure the door is securely closed, and restart the cycle. If the code persists, there may be laundry blocking the door latch, so open the door and push all laundry to the back of the drum. Re-close the door and restart the cycle. If the code remains, there may be a problem with the door latch or the door sensor. These parts cannot be repaired, only replaced, so contact a service center.

    "Drainage blocked?"

    • The error message "Drainage blocked?" means something is impeding the flow of water out of the drum. Check for kinks in the drainage hose, which could block or significantly slow the drainage flow. If the hose appears okay, unplug the machine and carefully detach the hose from the washer. Check the drainage outlet for clogs, and clear any debris. If the outlet valve is clear, use a garden hose to force water through the drainage hose. If there is a clog, the water will come back towards you. Use a plumber's snake to clear the clog. If the water flows cleanly through, there may be a clog inside the machine itself. Reconnect the drainage hose and contact a service center.

    "Water tap closed?"

    • If the screen reads "Water tap closed?" it means the drum is not filling with water properly. Make sure the water inlet tap is turned on by turning it to the left as far as it will go. Check the water inlet hose for kinks, which could impede the flow, or leaks, which could divert water from the machine. Kinks are common if a washing machine is pushed up against the wall. If the hose appears to be fine, unplug the washer and carefully unscrew the inlet hose from the tap and use a stiff brush to clean the filter screen. Reconnect the hose to the tap, and restart the cycle. If the error remains, it may mean that the water pressure is too low to flow all the way through the hose and fill the drum. Contact a service center.
