My Roper Washer Will Not Spin Clothes Dry
- 1). Verify that the Roper washer is connected to a working power outlet. Plug the washer directly into a grounded outlet and not into an extension cord, as extension cords supply insufficient power and may result in the washer malfunctioning.
- 2). Wait a few minutes and listen to the sound of the washer operating. Do not open the lid, as this may halt the washer operation. There are frequent pauses during the operation of the washer before a new cycle begins, including the spin and drain cycle.
- 3). Open the washer lid and remove items if the tub is overloaded. Overloading the washer may prevent it from properly spinning and removing water.
- 4). Turn the timer knob so that it is lined up with a wash cycle. Pull it out firmly. If the timer is not lined up with a cycle or is not pulled out completely, the washer may not operate as expected and can leave water in the tub.
- 5). Look inside the washer for items that may be blocking the drain. If items are stuck between the washer tubs, disconnect the power to the washer and remove the items with a pair of pliers.
- 6). Pull the washer away from the wall to access the drain hose. Place a towel under the water hoses on the floor. Remove the hose and clean out any accumulated debris or dirt that may be preventing proper drainage. Reconnect and straighten the hose.
- 7). Contact a professional for assistance if the above methods do not fix the issue.
