How to Sync an iPhone With a Laptop
- 1). Connect your iPhone to your laptop. Plug the USB cable into your iPhone and the other end into an available USB slot on your laptop. Wait for your computer to start up iTunes, or manually open the program.
- 2). Open iTunes. For PCs, click the "Start" button, followed by clicking "All Programs," "Apple" and click "iTunes." For Macs, click the iTunes icon located on your dock or click the "Go" button at the top of your screen, select "Applications" and double-click "iTunes."
- 3). Click your device's name in iTunes. The name of your iPhone will be located under the "Devices" section in the sidebar of iTunes. In the "Summary" section, scroll down and check the box next to "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected."
- 4). Click the "Info" tab at the top of the window and check the box "Sync Address Book contacts. Select the source of your contacts, and scroll down to check off the boxes to sync your notes, email account and calendar.
- 5). Click and read over each tab section. Each tab has information such as music, ringtones and applications that can be customized for synchronization. When finished, click the "Sync" button at the bottom of the iTunes window.
