How to Install an iPod in Windows Media Player 11

    • 1). Format your iPod. This is recommended to ensure that you experience no errors when using your iPod in Windows Media Player 11. Plug the device in your computer and open iTunes. Click the iPod icon at the left of the program screen. Then click the "Settings" tab near the top. Click the "Restore" tab; your iPod will begin to format. When the process is complete, close iTunes, but keep your iPod plugged into your computer.

    • 2). Download and install the free trial version of MGTEK dopisp (see Resources). Your iPod must be plugged in while MGTEK dopisp is installing, so do not detach the player.

    • 3). Open Windows Media Player 11. A message regarding MGTEK dopisp will appear in the middle of the screen. Read the message and click the "Trial" tab.

    • 4). Click the "Sync" tab at the top of the Windows Media Player 11 screen. Once you do, an iPod icon should appear in the top right corner.

    • 5). Click on the "Library" tab at the left to search for songs. Drag any song(s) that you want to add to your iPod to the "Sync List" on the right. When you're finished adding songs, click "Start Sync"; the songs will be added to your iPod. Close Windows Media Player when you're done. Then disconnect your iPod.
