Is Syrup a Sappy Wedding Favor?

Of all the unique wedding favors available, you might wonder why someone would give maple syrup in the first place.
Well, truth be told, it's actually an excellent choice for a thank-you gift.
An unexpected treat full of homemade goodness and country charm, you don't have to be from Vermont to appreciate this quaint choice.
Yet, syrup may not be at the top of every bride's list when it comes to choosing fall wedding favors.
To bring this hidden treasure into the spotlight, let's take a look at some common misconceptions about this sweet delight.
Who knows, you might become a syrup favor fan, too! It's something you can get at the store.
True, but most wedding favors are.
Yet, we still get excited over the kitchen gadgets, personalized chocolates and coasters, just like we've never seen them before.
Why?  Because guests can appreciate the practicality and usefulness of these items.
They're not just another trinket that will be soon forgotten.
  They have purpose.
And the same holds true for syrup.
What would guests do with it after the wedding? Do you have to even ask about the many recipes that can be made with this sweet treat?  From biscuits to candied sweet potatoes, it is a common ingredient in baking, making candy and preparing all types of desserts and dishes.
Why, it can even be used as a sugar source and flavoring agent in making beer.
If nothing else, guests can pour it on pancakes, waffles and French toast and remember your wedding with every delicious bite.
To really get guests in the spirit, include an easy recipe on the back of the thank you card.
A bottle of maple syrup seems so plain Well, maybe until you dress it up a bit.
Adding personalized tags, creative ribbons and even fancy jars can really turn up the notch on this notable favor.
Presenting it in a maple leaf-shaped bottled is always a nice touch.
Make it even more special by choosing a variety or flavor that you don't see everyday or give one that is made locally.
Do you have to be from Vermont to use it? Absolutely not!  Vermont or Canadian residency is not required.
Maple syrup can add a little homemade goodness to any wedding, especially ones held in the mountains or in the country.
(However, it is a nice touch, though, if you happen to have family roots in these well-known, syrup-producing areas.
) So, I ask the question, is maple syrup a sappy wedding favor?  Yes-but in a deliciously sweet, good way.
