Do's And Don'ts For Monsoon Brides

Every girl wants to have the perfect wedding just before she unites with her man. It is no wonder that every bride wants to be perfect for her Prince Charming and makes every possible effort for this. However, a bride-to-be faces more challenges during the monsoon season wedding than any other season wedding.

A monsoon bride is expected to follow many do's and don'ts during the monsoon wedding. Here is what all you should keep in mind to keep things like humidity and moisture floating in the air apart from other things at bay.

One of the first things to remember for a monsoon wedding is to avoid wearing heavily embroidered sarees and lehengas. You should also avoid heavy fabrics such as brocade, silk, velvet, etc. as they can take huge time to dry if they get wet and also can make you really uncomfortable. It will be best to go for light fabrics such as lace, chiffon, crepe, georgette, light satin, etc.

Once you are done with the fabric, it is time to select the color of the outfit(s). It is best to choose earthy colors such as maroons or greens with easy draping styles. Your ideal option would be light and not heavily embellished lehengas or sarees during the monsoon season. In other words, it is best to go for a wedding outfit that requires minimal embellishments and adornments. You can always go for minimal embroidery work to accentuate the wedding outfit. An ideal option will be lighter ghagras and lehengas that come with a choli with intricate design and minimal embellishments.

The next thing that you should focus on is the wedding footwear. During the rainy season, it is best to go for comfortable footwear such as platform or wedges and avoid high heels. Alternatively, you may opt for ‘blinged-up' flats or jootis. If you are expected to have an indoor wedding, it would still be suggested to go for lightweight and sturdy options and high stilettos with thin straps to avoid the risk of slipping on wet floor.

In addition to these monsoon wedding tips, it is also advised that you wash hair twice or thrice a week with a natural and mild shampoo. It is best to avoid hair conditioners every now and then as it can make hair look greasy and you surely don't want it with the monsoon playing the spoilsport by making your hair lifeless and limp with all the rain and humidity.
