How to Use More Than One Computer for My iPod Music

Setting up Your iPod for Manual syncing

    • 1). Connect your iPod to the computer using the supplied USB cable. iTunes should automatically open once your iPod is connected to the computer. If it doesn't, manually open iTunes just like you would open any other program.

    • 2). Click on "iPod" in the device list on the left hand side of the iTunes interface.

    • 3). Select the "Summary" tab in the main window that pops up in the middle of the iTunes browser window.

    • 4). Click the box on the left hand side of "Manually manage music and videos." This will keep your iPod from automatically updating when it is connected to another computer.

    • 5). Click "Apply" to update the settings.

Manually Adding Music to Your iPod

    • 1). Connect your iPod to the computer with the supplied USB cable. If iTunes doesn't open automatically, open it manually by double-clicking on the desktop icon.

    • 2). Click on the "Music" tab under "Library" on the left hand side of the iTunes interface -- this will bring up a list of all songs stored in your iTunes library.

    • 3). Select the song you want to add to your iPod by clicking on it.

    • 4). Drag the song to the iPod icon, which will appear in the device list. The device list is located on the left hand side of iTunes, below your iTunes library.
