How to Update a Symantec Scan Engine
- 1). Click "Start."
- 2). Click "Programs."
- 3). Click on the folder that shares a name with the Symantec program you have installed on your hard drive. If you are trying to update the scan engine for "Norton Antivirus," click on the "Norton Antivirus" folder.
- 4). Click "LiveUpdate."
- 5). Click "Next." LiveUpdate will check the Internet for updates for all of your Symantec programs. If found, the updates will be downloaded and installed. You don't have to click anything else, as the rest of the process is entirely automated.
