Preschool Monkey Craft Games

    Monkey Face-Off

    • After concluding a children's story about monkeys, help children foster good listening skills in a fun and creative way with this simple craft game. Provide children with premade shapes of monkey heads, ears, eyes, noses and mouths, cut from construction paper, along with school glue. Ask children a series of questions relating to the story. For every question a child answers correctly, instruct them to glue a facial feature onto the monkey head shape, until all features are glued. When finished, punch a hole through monkey heads and hang with string from a classroom ceiling or decorate a storybook bulletin board with the finished craft projects.

    Sock Monkey Role Play

    • Supply children with clean, unused socks, school glue and felt cutouts of eyes, monkey ears and mouths. Assist children in gluing the pieces to the top, toe ends of the socks to make a monkey sock puppet. Once children finish making the puppets, stage a puppet show or encourage children to make simple presentations using the sock puppets to speak to classmates about a book, favorite memory or show-and-tell lesson.
