DIY Planter

    • 1). Remove dust jackets, if any, from your books. Stack them to find the placement you like best. Use hot glue to attach the top book to the bottom.

    • 2). Mark the spot where you want your hole. Drill through both books at this spot, using a 3-inch bit. This is where you'll put your plant.

    • 3). Cut a plastic container or cup to fit into the hole, using scissors. Put 2 inches of gravel or broken pottery in the bottom to help with drainage, then top with potting soil and plant. Consider planting your book planter with a succulent that doesn't require frequent watering to help preserve the books. Remove the plastic container to water the plant in a safer environment, if desired.
