How to Change a Light Bulb in Landscaping Lights
- 1). Locate all the lights that need new bulbs. Turn off the electricity at the main source of power, which will be located in a breaker box outside the house.
- 2). Unscrew the protective covers of the lamps that need new bulbs and place the screws in a safe place for reinstalling them when you have finished changing the bulbs. Remove the burnt-out bulbs by turning them counterclockwise. Place them on a flat surface to dispose of correctly when you finish.
- 3). Screw the light bulbs slowly into the sockets that are empty, turning them clockwise and make sure they are securely in before moving to the next light.
- 4). Replace the protective covers on the lamps, screwing them in place with the screws you removed before changing the bulbs. Turn on the power and check to make sure all the lights are working.
- 5). Place the old bulbs in a bag and secure the top. Find out from your local waste removal office how to dispose of the bulbs correctly for your locality. Change bulbs every six months for your safety and the protection of your property.
