How to Make a Chinese Shuriken Out of Paper
- 1). Take a sheet of paper and fold it so the top edge lines up with the right side edge of the paper. Cut off the excess at the bottom.
- 2). Unfold the paper, forming a square. Fold it down the middle to make a reference line. Unfold the paper, and cut along the fold line, which gives you two rectangular pieces of paper.
- 3). Fold both pieces down the middle, lengthwise.
- 4). Fold each piece in half, widthwise, creating another reference line. Unfold the paper widthwise.
- 5). Fold one side of the paper at a 45-degree angle, so that one edge lines up with the reference line. Fold the other side of the paper at a 45-degree, in the other direction, with one edge lining up with the reference line.
- 6). Grab the lower, outer corner of each piece, and fold it into a triangle that meets the edge of the flap. Repeat with the opposite end. This will create an "S" shape for each piece, formed by two triangles and an inner parallelogram.
- 7). Fold the outer triangle portions toward you, over the center, so they resemble a diamond. This will create guidelines for the next step.
- 8). Reverse the folds you just made. Each piece will look like an "S" again. Holding one piece vertically at a 90-degree angle and the other piece horizontally at an 180-degree angle. Join the sides without flaps in the middle. Leave the outer triangle flaps loose.
- 9). Tuck each triangle flap into the center flaps, to finish your paper shuriken.
