How to Get a Fabric Strip in Quilt Binding Tip for the Simplicity Bias Tape Maker
- 1). Wind the fabric strip onto the spindle at the end coming off the top of the roll rather than underneath. Slip the spindle back into the holder on the machine.
- 2). Remove the iron cover on the machine by sliding it forward and lifting it up and off. Slip the bias maker tip off the machine by lifting it straight up.
- 3). Fold the end of the strip into a point by folding each half of the strip end down at an angle. Poke the point into the bias maker tip. Each side of the strip will slid into the slot that lines the inside of the tip.
- 4). Look at the top of the bias maker tip to find the slot that runs the length of the tip. Push a stiletto or skewer into the slot where you see the fabric inside. Use the stiletto to pull the fabric along inside the tip until the fabric comes out the other side of the tip.
- 5). Snap the tip back onto the machine. Pull the folded fabric from the tip until you have a long enough piece to hang off the end of the machine. Slip the iron cover back into the slots and slide it back to lock it into place before using it.
