How to Replace Parts on a Hoover Carpet Cleaner

- 1). Unplug the machine and empty the clean solution and recovery tanks.
- 2). Lower the handle and turn the machine so the cleaner side is facing up.
- 3). Pull the brush out from the center bristle until you can see the underlying latches.
- 4). Press the latches and pull the old brushes out.
- 5). Press the latches of the new brushes and set them into place. You will know they are completely in position when you hear a snap.
- 1). Unplug the machine and empty the clean solution and recovery tanks.
- 2). Lower the handle and turn the machine so the cleaner side is facing up.
- 3). Remove the bottom panel by unscrewing the four screws located in opposite corners of the machine.
- 4). Inspect the belts for signs of wear, such as cracking, fraying or sagging. If any of these are occurring, remove the belts and order replacements.
- 5). Attach the new belts and re-secure the panel.
