How to Create a Zip File Using Windows

    • 1). Right click an area on the desktop not occupied by any files or folders. Select "New" > "Compressed (zipped) Folder" from the context menu.

    • 2). Enter a name for the zipped folder.

    • 3). Drag the files you wish to zip into the compressed folder. The folder will have an extension of ".zip" after it is created. Once the files are dragged to the zipped folder, they are automatically compressed.
