How do I Connect Spyware Doctor When it Shows it is Disconnected?
- 1). Close the Spyware Doctor software if it is currently running. Locate the icon for your current anti-virus software in the task bar at the lower right end of the desktop. Right-click the icon and choose "Disable" or "Exit."
- 2). Right-click the icon for your firewall software if you are using any. Choose "Disable" or "Exit" to close the software.
- 3). Open the Spyware Doctor program and click "Smart Update" to see if the disconnected error message appears again. Minimize the window if the problem occurs and you also use the Spybot Search and Destroy program.
- 4). Double-click the Spybot desktop icon or navigate to the icon in the "Start" menu. In Windows Vista you need to instead right-click the icon and choose "Run as Administrator."
- 5). Click "Mode" and choose "Advanced Mode." Click "Yes" and navigate to the "Tools" tab at the left end of the screen. Click "Resident" and uncheck the boxes labeled "SDHelper" and "Tea Timer."
- 6). Select "Allow Change" and return to the Spyware Doctor window. Click "Smart Update" and see if the problem persists.

- 4). Navigate to the Spyware Doctor download website. Click the download link and double-click the file when it downloads. Follow the onscreen installation instructions and open the Spyware Doctor program. Click the "Smart Update" button.
