How to Protect Azaleas From Frost

    • 1). Pound four stakes around the plant, 1 foot away from it and spread equally distant. The stakes should extend higher than the azalea plant.

    • 2). Place the cloth over the stakes, adjusting it so that it does not touch the foliage and flowers. The fabric should reach the ground.

    • 3). Staple or nail the fabric to the stakes if high winds are also expected.

    • 4). Remove the covering if it rains or when the temperatures warm.
