How to Tether the EDGE on an iPhone
- 1). Contact your cellular service provider and ensure that your current service plan includes Internet tethering. In order to access the feature, you may need to upgrade your plan.
- 2). Upgrade to the latest version of iOS (the iPhone's operating system). Connect your iPhone to your computer using the included USB cable. Open iTunes and select your iPhone in the sidebar. Select "Summary" and click "Update." ITunes will check for new versions of iOS. Follow the instructions to download and install the updates.
- 3). Tap "Settings," "General" and "Network" on the iPhone. Keep the iPhone connected to your computer.
- 4). Tap "Internet Tethering" and slide the switch to "On." This will create a network called "iPhone."
- 5). Open the network connection window on your computer and select the iPhone network to connect to the Internet using your iPhone's data connection.
