The "C" Word Was Invented By A Man!
If I had a dime for every time a man referenced me as "Bitch", I would be typing to you from my mansion in Beverly Hills.
I am not insulted by this word; in fact, I carry it as a badge of honor.
A badge of honor which is a trademark of intimidation shared by men.
It is not my physical attributes that intimidate men; it is my courage and strength.
I am a strong woman, and I stand on a threshold of women before me, who fought for my right to vote, my right to divorce my husband, my power to make a man pay legally if he abuses me.
I stand on this threshold a proud woman, inviting other women to stand with me, but where are they? There are numerous strong women in hiding and it will prove a proud day when they realize, they no longer have to hide.
I want to explain what a strong woman is.
A strong woman is passionate, often misunderstood and labeled "too sensitive".
A strong woman can scream as well as cry loudly.
She can kick hard, while offering a smile to a child.
A strong woman does not require a man to make her strong, for she was at this peak way before "he" ever came along.
These women are fierce as lions yet, gentle as a lamb.
A strong woman will not sleep with a man for financial gain.
She has made her own ways in the world.
Strong women have suffered, cried and fought their way through various stereotypes to reach the summit of content.
They have embraced their femininity, and proved equals to their male counterparts.
Most men are terrified of women such as this.
This scares most men.
Some men believe women were placed on the earth to serve and dwell upon their needs.
Strong women will surely perform these tasks, as long as they receive the same.
These women know when to open their mouths and when to shut them.
They do not long for notoriety, fame or the limelight.
They do however long for love, equality and acceptance.
So call me "Bitch", call me "Whore", call me a "Lesbian", you can even call me the "C" word, but one thing no man will ever call me is weak.
No matter the names or atrocities a man may throw my way, I will be standing here, long after he falls.
I am and will continue to be, a strong woman.
