It"s Time to Stop Being Exploited by Men Selling Diet Products
I know there a lot of things in this world that need fixing.
I know this subject might not be a top priority for a lot of women.
But I've had it.
Everywhere I turn, someone is trying to get me to lose weight.
Don't get me wrong, I know a healthy weight is important.
My problem is how they are going about it.
No matter the message, it's one designed to exploit my emotions for one thing: Money.
If I just buy this pill, I can have the body of the 18 year old model in the ad- and eat whatever I want.
If I just buy this diet book, I can be more attractive to my husband.
If I just buy this workout program, I can have a body like a fitness model.
Do you see what I see? A bunch of giant business run by men that are using our emotions to get money from us.
Think about it and you'll see that's true.
Does any one offer to help for free? Does anyone tells to just eat right and get some exercise? Or does every ad say the "secret" to weight loss is to buy this pill, this patch, this herb, this diet, this berry, this program.
How did we let this happen to ourselves? Women are the strong ones.
We're the ones that clean up the messes men leave behind.
We're the ones that raise the kids when the man skips out.
We're the ones that tell our sons and daughters to try their best and do the right thing.
And now were letting a bunch of giant corporations sell us a bunch of junk so we can meet some impossible standard? I don't know if I should laugh- or cry.
How can I be comfortable with what I see in the mirror when every message is telling me I need to BUY something to be thinner, look younger, or be more beautiful?
