How to Make Paper Flower Pom Poms
- 1). Stack eight sheets of 20-by-30-inch tissue paper on top of one another. Position the sheets vertically in front of you.
- 2). Fold the paper accordion-style as you would a paper fan, making each fold 1 1/2 inches wide. Achieve accordion-style folds by alternating between folding the paper backward and forward. Continue folding until you have folded all of the paper.
- 3). Cut a 6-inch piece of steel wire. Pinch the tissue paper in the middle and wrap the steel wire tightly around the center several times. The tissue paper should now resemble the shape of a bow tie.
- 4). Round off both ends of the tissue paper with a pair of scissors as you hold all of the folds together.
- 5). Separate the individual layers of tissue paper one at a time by gently pulling them apart. Separate all of the sheets on one side of the steel wire before moving on to the other side. Once you have finished fluffing all of the layers, you can tie a piece of string to the wire in the center to hang the flower from the ceiling or wrap it around a dinner napkin.
