Flowers That Climb a Fence

    Clematis

    • The clematis has been called the "queen of the climbers." This vine's flowers come in many varieties. You'll see them in all sorts of colors, from different shades of purple to blue and yellow. Sometimes, the same flower will even change color throughout its bloom. Plus, the bloom times for a clematis range throughout the year, some masses of flowers will be in bloom year round.

    Climbing Hydrangea

    • These vines can climb a fence or wall very quickly if you are looking for a strong, fast vine. The flowers that bloom from this vine are bright, large and showy and they will also attract hummingbirds.

    Morning Glory

    • A morning glory is a stunning flower that blooms on a climbing vine. This delicate flower provides for a romantic feel with its deep purple or indigo coloring and pink center resembling a star. The petals of a morning glory have a rich, velvety feel.

    Kiwi Vine

    • The kiwi vine is versatile because it produces not only attractive blooms but also kiwi fruit. These vines are heavy and cannot support their own weight, and, therefore, they need the support of a fence to grow. The blooms on a kiwi vine and small and usually purple with splashes of pink. They also have a nice fragrance.

    Trumpet Honeysuckle

    • The trumpet honeysuckle has blooms of bright yellow and red flowers. These vines can grow to 20 feet in length, and they are perfect for covering up and decorating chain-link fences. These flowers produce a nectar that are very inviting to birds, butterflies and hummingbirds in the summer months.
