How to Plan a Funny Pirate Party Theme
- 1). Make party invitations. Party invitations should have traditional pirate paraphernalia on it, like a skull and crossbones or a treasure map. To ensure the invitations' authenticity, write in "pirate language." Include phrases like "Ahoy, maties" or "Down to Davy Jones' Locker with ye." Do not forget to write your address, contact information and time and date of the party. Otherwise, your guests will not know when and where to go to your party.
- 2). Decorate the house with treasure chests and pirate flags. If you wish to make the theme more fun, include doubloons in your decorations that each person can take home with them as a party favor.
- 3). Purchase a pirate costume. It should over the top, especially since the purpose of the pirate theme is to be funny. If you wish to be original, you can always make your own. Do not forget to add many gold chains and a fake parrot to your shoulder.
- 4). Invent pirate party games. They can be as silly as you want. Popular games include a "pegged leg race" and a treasure hunt.
- 5). Cater the event with pirate-like food and drink. Make a watermelon boat by cutting the watermelon in half and empty it. Add various fruits to the hollow shell. Next, you can bake a cake that looks like a Jolly Roger pirate flag. Finally, consider making a non-alcoholic grog for the kids -- and a spiked version for the adults.
