Decorating treat bags is a simple Halloween party craft for kids or adults. Let kids get creative and design the bags as they please, or have them follow instructions for a specific look. The bags can be used for holding Halloween candy, or handed out as party favors with treats inside. - Start with plain black sacks to create tombstone bags. Use a wide-mouthed cup or glass to trace an arch shape on the top of the bag. Cut along the line you traced to form the tombstone's shape. Use white adhesive address labels to create "Rest In Peace" stickers. Write "RIP" on the stickers in black marker and place them on the front of the bag. Use orange- and black-colored tissue paper to line the bags.
- Use brown paper lunch bags as the base for cute decorated bags. Purchase supplies such as Halloween-themed scrapbook paper and stickers, polka dot stickers in orange and black, orange and black construction paper, letter stickers, glue and glitter. Use the letter stickers to spell "Boo" or "Trick Or Treat" on the bags. Stick dots all over the bag for a whimsical look. Cut Halloween images from scrapbook paper or use the construction paper to create shapes such as ghosts, moons, black cats or pumpkins. Glue the images onto the bags, adding glitter and stickers as you like to complete the look.
- Start with a gift bag that's black, silver or white. Use orange construction paper to cut out a circle shape that will become the pumpkin. Draw facial features directly onto the pumpkin shape, or cut them from black construction paper and glue them to the pumpkin. Make a stem for the pumpkin with brown construction paper. Glue the stem onto the pumpkin's top, and glue the pumpkin to the gift bag. Set a book on top of it and allow it to dry.
