How to Troubleshoot a Whirlpool Gold Drop 30-Inch Range
- 1). Connect the Whirlpool oven power cord to a functional electrical outlet if nothing is working on or in the oven. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker as necessary.
- 2). Verify that the gas valve is turned on if the range is gas powered and has power but is not heating. Push in and turn the control knobs to operate and use the corresponding knob for the desired burner or oven function.
- 3). Avoid setting items on or touching the cook top if the "Hot Surface" indicator light remains illuminated even after the control knobs have been turned off. The light indicates that the oven or range is still cooling down and may still be hot to the touch.
- 4). Shut the oven door fully if the "Self Clean" option will not operate as expected. Press and hold "Stop/Cancel" and reprogram the "Self Clean" cycle, as a delay start may have accidentally been set.
- 5). Use bake ware approved for the oven if cooking results are not as expected. Set items in the center of the racks and preheat the oven before use. Monitor items while cooking and adjust the temperature as needed for improved results.
- 6). Wipe the cook top with a clean, damp cloth after every use and wipe the bottom of cookware before setting on the cook top to avoid scratches on the cook top. This can occur when debris on the cook top or cookware is dragged on the surface, creating marks or scratches.
