Thank You Gifts For a Baseball Coach

    Plaques and Posters

    • Have a plaque made for the coach in the shape of home plate. The plaque should include a team picture with the team name, year and roster, if possible. A catchphrase or saying can be included on the plaque, as well. For example, "#1 Coach" or any saying the coach frequently uses. Or you can make the coach a poster using photos taken during the season if something homemade or more personal seems more fitting. For example, interview a couple of the players and make a poster to look like a magazine cover. Write something such as "Honoring the Coach of the Year" and include a closeup of the coach, some action pictures and a team photo.

    Baseball Equipment

    • Give the coach a special piece of equipment, such as a baseball or bat. Some companies make baseballs with a picture imprinted onto the ball. All of the players can sign the ball around the picture or sign a regular ball and display it in a case or on a golden glove with the coach's name on it. Ask each player to sign a wooden bat with the coach's name engraved on it, or have all of the players' signatures laser engraved onto the bat with a small plaque including the year, team name and mascot.

    Handmade Gifts

    • Younger kids might want to make something for the coach instead of buying something. Make a banner for the coach with the team mascot, name and a handwritten note to the coach from each player. Ask the players to write their notes and sign their names on baseball patches that can be added to the banner.

Or make him a t-shirt with "Coach" on the front, the team name and number one on the back. Let each kid make their handprint on the t-shirt with non-toxic fabric paint and sign over their handprints when the paint dries.

Another option is to decorate a baseball duffel bag with baseball patches signed by the players that the coach can use for future seasons.

Or make a scrapbook to highlight each players' favorite part of the season and what he learned most from the coach. Each player can have one or two pages that he gets to decorate. Include a lead-in sentence for younger players, such as "The thing I learned most from Coach was" and let each teammate finish that sentence in his own words.
