How to Make Cashmere Stuffed Animals
- 1). Draw a stuffed animal pattern freehand or using a template like a cookie cutter. Cut it out carefully to keep it to size. Alternately, you can also find a pattern online, print it out and cut it to shape.
- 2). Cut the cashmere sweater on either sides to make a single flat layer. This allows for easy cutting of the pattern.
- 3). Place the pattern over the cashmere fabric and pin it at different spots so that it does not move while cutting.
- 4). Cut the fabric following the pattern carefully, making sure you work on an even flat surface.
- 5). Place the right sides of the cut out fabric together and stitch near the edges, leaving a 3-inch opening to turn the pattern inside out. Reinforce the seams by stitching one more time along the seam.
- 6). Turn the stitched stuffed animal pattern right side out and stuff with fiberfill. You can also use scraps of leftover cashmere to stuff inside, instead of throwing it away.
- 7). Stitch the 3-inch opening to close it completely. Stitch the buttons in place to make the eyes and nose. Use other embellishment as needed to complete the stuffed animal's final look.
