How to Get the Taste of Cigarettes Out of Your Mouth
- 1). Use mouthwash after smoking. If you can, carry mouthwash with you, so you can use it when you're away from home. Try to use an antiseptic mouthwash to kill germs, a mouthwash with a 25 percent or less concentration of alcohol. A high-alcohol mouthwash can dry your mouth out and lead to bad breath.
- 2). Chew sugarless gum to reduce the taste of cigarettes. Cinnamon gum can freshen your cigarette breath. You can also use natural gums with spearmint or peppermint to eliminate the taste of cigarettes. Try to always have gum handy.
- 3). Chew on anise seeds. Buy these at any health food store. Anise seeds kill bacteria and reduce bad breath. After smoking, chew on anise seeds to eliminate the taste of cigarettes in your mouth.
- 4). Drink tea to eliminate the taste of cigarettes. You can easily make alfalfa tea by putting 2 tsp. of dried alfalfa leaves in boiling water and steeping it for 20 minutes. You can also drink black tea, which gets rid of bad breath.
- 5). Gargle with peroxide. Peroxide will fight the odor in your mouth. Add a cap of peroxide to a cap of water and swish the solution around in your mouth to eliminate bacteria and cigarette breath.
