How to Disable the Start Menu Balloon Tips
- 1). Create a backup of your registry by clicking "Start" and then "Run." Type "Regedit" into the text box, which brings up the "Registry Editor." Click on "File" and then "Export." Create a name for your backup registry and save it to your desktop.
- 2). Click on "HKEY_CURRENT_USER." Then navigate to Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced, which is where the enable/disable option for balloon tips is located.
- 3). Select and right-click on the "Advanced" key located in the left panel. Create a new DWORD and name it "EnableBalloonTips".
- 4). Double-click on it and ensure that the value is set to "0."
- 5). Close the window and restart your computer.
