- The scientific name for creeping phlox is Phlox stolonifera, which belongs to the Polemoniaceae family.
- The creeping phlox flower head can be 0.8 of an inch to 1 inch in diameter, and has five petals that can be either light purple, white or pink. The stamens of the creeping phlox are yellow.
- Creeping phlox flowers have both creeping and upright flowering stems, and can grow from 6 to12 inches tall.
- The creeping phlox flower's leaves are approximately 1.5 inches to 1.75 inches long, 0.7 inches wide on flowering stems and approximately 0.8 inches wide on creeping stems.
- Creeping phlox prefers to grow in partially shaded to fully shaded areas; they also do well in the sun.
