- 1). Place the hoya plant in an area that receives bright, indirect light. A west-facing window generally supplies sufficient light for a hoya plant.
- 2). Water the plant when the soil has dried out. Irrigate thoroughly until water begins to drain from the pot, then allow the soil to dry again before the next watering.
- 3). Fertilize hoya once monthly when they are putting on new growth, usually in the spring and summer. Apply a balanced, soluble houseplant fertilizer according to the package instructions.
- 4). Leave the flowers in place after they wilt. Trimming off spent blooms prevents the plant from flowering in the future.
