How to Manually Light a Gas Oven
- 1). Turn the shutoff valve on the gas line behind the oven to the open position, if necessary. Make sure the valve is running parallel to the gas line. Check all the oven and burner control knobs to verify that they are in the "off" position.
- 2). Open the broiler drawer at the bottom of the oven and remove the broiler pan, setting it out of the way. Locate the oven pilot light at the top of the broiler.
- 3). Light the pilot light, using a spark ignitor.
- 4). Place the broiler pan back inside the broiler and shut the broiler drawer.
