How to Make Christmas Card

    • 1). Fold a sheet of Christmas card stock in half. Apply pressure to the fold to create a crease. Wipe the front panel of the Christmas card stock with an anti-static dryer sheet. This will help keep the embossing powder from scattering over the surface of the paper.

    • 2). Press the Christmas stamp onto the slow-drying ink stamp pad. Make sure that you use slow-drying ink so that you will have time to add the embossing powder before the ink dries. Press the inked stamp onto the front of the folded Christmas card stock.

    • 3). Place the card stock on top of a loose sheet of paper. Sprinkle metallic embossing powder over the wet ink. Cover the stamped image with powder. Tilt the card up off the paper. Tap the card to release the excess powder. The metallic embossing powder will help the stamped image stand out on the Christmas card stock.

    • 4). Return the excess powder to the embossing container for future projects.

    • 5). Place the card face up on a work surface. Hold a heat gun 6 inches above the card and apply heat to the embossing powder. Move the gun back and forth over the powdery surface until the granules melt and become glossy and slightly raised. Heat the powder until the stamped image is fully embossed.

    • 6). Write a personal holiday message inside the card. You can also stamp and emboss another, smaller, Christmas image inside the card. Word stamps are also available in a variety of holiday sentiments.
