- 1). Put on your safety gear, making sure to wear heat-resistant leather gloves. Place your propane torch securely in an area free of flammable items. A steel table works well. The torch should sit easily on the table without shaking or tilting.
- 2). Light your torch, turning the flame down to about 1 inch long. Hold the part of your titanium wire you want to bend in the orange part of the flame. Turn it gently in your fingers, heating all sides of the wire evenly.
- 3). Wait until the wire begins to turn red. Remove it from the flame and bend it very gently and slowly. Too fast and it will snap. Bend it as far as you must, waiting for that angle to cool before heating another part of the wire.
