Woodworking Plans for Furniture - Tedswoodworking Review
When doing a quick search for woodworking plans for furniture on the internet these days, you will get flooded with different companies offering endless plans to choose from. You can find anything offered in terms of woodworking plans for furniture - be it all sorts of table-styles, cabinets for kitchen, garage, or kids room, bedroom furniture, backyard- or deck furniture, in particular lawn chairs, desks, or even smaller pieces of furniture like mirrors or smaller bookcases.
Also, every time I used to look for some plans on the internet, it seemed like the woodworking plans are kind of scattered all over the place; there is no real order as there are so many different companies offering them. On the other hand, the complete woodworking packages offer highly organized, searchable prints so you find immediately what you are looking for, while getting even more inspiration for additional projects as you are browsing through all the different projects in the package.
In my experience, some of the free plans are really good quality, but most of them are not - and usually it takes a long, long time to finally find a good, comprehensive, well explained free woodworking furniture plan for your specific project. For example, not too long ago I was finally to getting my little shelf project for my garage; trying to find good, free shelve plans, however, proved to be challenging. I spent a couple of hours looking for free plans and found all kinds of different styles and types of e.g. dining room tables, but not the kinds of shelves I had in mind.
The nice thing about them is that not only do you get several thousands of woodworking plans for furniture, as opposed to the smaller packages containing say a max. of 5 plans, or even only true single plans. That allows you to find exactly what you are looking for in terms of a certain woodworking projects, or even in terms of a certain design of a woodworking project; that way, you can match different pieces of self-made wooden furniture around your house, because they are based on the same or very similar woodworking plan styles.
Later on, I built my own dining room table, and it came out really nicely - I did base my design on one of the single plans I found for free on the internet; the problem was, however, that there was no corresponding plan for same- or similar design chairs for this dining room table, so I had to come up with something completely differently. Sure, you do not want to be too picky when it comes to different styles and layouts, but I just prefer when the stuff I built kind of matches each other; after all, the different pieces of furniture should in my mind complement my house as a whole, not in terms of single pieces here and there. After me checking out the first complete woodworking packages I bought a few months ago, I noticed that this would take care of these issues as I now have all the matching styles for all kinds of different furniture projects, in one single, easy accessible
