You"ll Get a Great Welcome at "Sunny Hunny

The history of Hunstanton stretches way back into the mists of time.
Archaeological studies have shown that originally there was a Neolithic settlement at this site in which Stone Age settlers were thought to have lived.
That is from the era of 9500BC! We don't have to travel back quite that far to explore its recent history however.
In the late 19th century, a local landowner decided that Hunstanton would be a good location for a holiday resort, so with the support of other local notaries, they raised enough funds to help in the construction of a railway to bring more tourists to the area.
And what a successful venture that proved to be! Now Hunstanton is a very popular tourist resort with many interesting attractions to provide a great holiday or fun days out.
Now, this coastal resort has a great deal to offer visiting families.
There are fairs and aquariums and several scenic beaches.
The Sea Life Sanctuary is home to marine animals including otters and penguins.
There are also every year, several rescued seal pups which become abandoned as well as their own resident seals.
The pre-resort Hunstanton can also still be seen.
This area is known as Old Hunstanton and is a quieter, calmer place with coastal walks leading to an old lighthouse and the ruins of St Edmund's Chapel.
The lighthouse has been there for several centuries.
Originally this was a wooden tower with a basket of burning coals to warn the ships of the rocks below.
Later this was vastly improved and became the first lighthouse in Europe with a parabolic reflector.
Unfortunately this is now mostly unused.
Whether you wish to experience the modern day resort or revisit Old Hunstanton, there is much to beckon the visitor and especially young families at 'Sunny Hunny.
