How to Make Your Own Gourmet Scented Candles
- 1). Purchase fancy glass jars to make the candles in.
- 2). Trim a wick for each jar. It should be the same height as the jar itself.
- 3). Put a drop of hot glue into the bottom of the first jar, centered in the middle.
- 4). Hold a wick in the hot glue, standing upright, until the glue hardens. This will hold the wick in place.
- 5). Add wicks to all of the jars.
- 6). Melt store-bought candle wax in a double boiler. If you do not have one, fill a saucepan with a few inches of water and put in a clean steel can with wax in it. As the water boils, the can will act as a double boiler.
- 7). Mix scented oil into the melted wax, a drop at a time, until the desired level of fragrance is reached. Use a small spoon or chopstick to mix the oil into the wax.
- 8). Mix candle dye into the wax, a drop at a time, until you reach the desired color.
- 9). Pour the wax into the jars, stopping a half inch from the top.

Allow the candles to cool. This will take several hours, depending on the size of the jars. - 11
Decorate the outside of the candle jars by hot gluing ribbons, bows, labels or other items found in the scrapbooking section of a craft store.
