How to Make Custom Camera Straps

    • 1). Measure the original camera strap's width and length between the leather bindings.

    • 2). Trace the camera strap measurements onto fabric. The fabric should be folded right sides together.

    • 3). Trace an additional 1 to 1.5cm outside of the first outline traced on the fabric. This is your seam allowance.

    • 4). Cut along the outer line. This will leave you with two pieces of fabric.

    • 5). Iron down a 0.5cm fold around each piece of fabric. Ensure right sides remain down while ironing.

    • 6). Sew the four end pieces, widthwise, down.

    • 7). Pin the two pieces of fabric back together. Their right sides should touch.

    • 8). Sew the fabric straps lengthwise, leaving the ends open.

    • 9). Iron open the seam. An optional stitch along the seam may be added at this point.
