How to Make a Princess Headband

    • 1). Lay a hard, fabric-covered headband on a flat surface and paint the headband with sparkling fabric paints. Let the headband dry for two to three hours.

    • 2). Draw the spikes of a crown on a piece of paper and cut out the paper crown to use as a template for the headband.

    • 3). Fold a piece of felt in half and place the crown template on top of the felt with the flat end of the template along the fold line, approximately 1/2 inch away from the edge.

    • 4). Trace the crown template onto the felt with a piece of chalk or a fabric pen. Do not trace the bottom flat edge of the crown. Remove the template and cut out the crown shape. Do not cut along the fold line.

    • 5). Insert the top of the headband into the fold in the felt with the spiky points of the crown pointed upwards.

    • 6). Apply a line of fabric glue along the top of the headband and squeeze the front and back of the felt crown together against the glue.

    • 7). Spread a layer of glue inside of the felt at the spiky points of the crown. Press the front and back sides of the crown together, ensuring the edges are joined closely.

    • 8). Use the paper template to make a second paper template that is 1/2 inch smaller on each side than the original template. Trace the shape of the smaller template onto a piece of felt, and cut it out.

    • 9). Spread a layer of the glue on the back of the felt cutout and press it in the center of the felt crown attached to the headband.

    • 10

Apply a dab of glue to the back of a large imitation gemstone and press it firmly onto the center spike of the crown.

    • 11

Spread glue on the backs of four to six more imitation gemstones and press them firmly against the rest of the spikes on the crown.
