How to Download Songs Onto an iPod Touch

    WiFi Downloads via Touch

    • 1). Click the iTunes Store icon on your iPod Touch. This will launch the iTunes store. Ensure you are in a WiFi enabled area.

    • 2). Use the search function at the bottom of the screen or the Top Ten listing to select the music of your choice. Click on the music to select it. Clicking on a song or album title once will bring up the "Buy Now" option. Click this option.

    • 3). Enter your iTunes store log-in information and wait for your song/album to download.

    iTunes Computer Downloads

    • 1). Install the latest version of the iTunes software from Apple. If you have a Mac, your computer already comes with iTunes. Otherwise, you will need to download the software. The software is available for free from the Apple website, located at Apple.com/itunes/download. However, even if you do have a Mac with iTunes, it may be necessary to upgrade if you are using an old version. Boot up iTunes on your Mac and allow the software to auto-update itself, if applicable.

    • 2). Use iTunes on your computer to download the music of your choice. Click "iTunes Store" on the sidebar of the program. Use the search bar in the top right corner to find your music and double click a selection to download it.

    • 3). Take your iPod Touch and connect it to your computer. This can be done by using the white USB cable that comes with your iPod Touch. The flatter, wider end of the USB cable plugs into the bottom of your iPod Touch, while the end with the universal USB symbol (a ray with two offshoots) will plug into the USB port on your computer. This port should be marked with a similar USB port. Allow the iPod Touch a few moments to sync. Once synced (this will happen automatically), the new music will be on your Touch.
