Memory and Mind Reset - Simple Strategies to Increase Your Mental Acuity and Recall

Scientists have recently discovered that merely closing your eyes will help reset your brain in the same way that sleep helps reset things.
This is not to be considered a substitute for sleep, we all need sleep, however it does reveal some insight to strategies that we can all use to help improve our mental acuity in memory.
Let me explain.
Over the past few weeks I have taken this information and implemented it into my daily regimen.
For instance I will close my eyes, and turn off all the lights in the middle of the day.
I will go into a room which is dark close my eyes for a few minutes and rest.
What I've noticed is that when I come out it's very similar to the refreshing type of sensation you get when you take a shower.
You know how some people say they get their best ideas in the shower? It's really true and it seems to work for just about everybody, well if you turn off the lights, and close your eyes, so there is no light coming in from your eyelids, you will discover the same thing.
If you will do this every few hours, you will note that you will increase your recall and your processing speed of your brain.
Since I am an online writer what I will often do is write 10 articles, and then go rest my eyes so I don't have to look at the computer for a few minutes.
One way to do this is to simply turn off the lights when you go into the bathroom - therefore you never have to waste any time out of your day.
Then when you're done, wash your hands, splash the warm water on your face, leaving the lights off the entire time.
When you come out you will be refreshed and you will have mentally reset your brain, cleared your mind and giving yourself a mental acuity boost for your next few hours of work.
Some people are able to just simply close their eyes, and stop and think for a minute.
They find that when they do this they can think deeper.
This is a similar method to that, only my concept will last a few minutes longer, and you are clearing your mind rather than trying to solve a complex problem.
It's amazing how well this works, and it's also interesting that science has now figured out why using fMRI brain scanners, to watch the process, as the brain that acts in a similar way as to someone who is asleep.
Please consider all this, and try it.
I hope it works for you as well.
