How do I Repair a Tassel Twist?

- 1). Measure your desired tassel length and cut out a piece of cardboard to the same length. For example, if your tassel is 3 inches, cut the cardboard 3 inches long. The cardboard should be no wider than a half-inch.
- 2). Wrap the thread around the cardboard lengthwise to create a full tassel, but don't stretch it too much or it will snap.
- 3). Use a separate piece of thread, at least 6 inches in length, and slide it underneath the thread that is wrapped around the cardboard. Tie both ends together at the top of the cardboard.
- 4). Slide the cardboard out of the coiled thread.
- 5). Wrap another piece of thread around the coiled thread, about 1 inch from the top of the other tied thread to create a head. Tie the thread around the head three times.
- 6). Tie the two ends of the thread together and make a tight knot.
- 7). Cut the loops of the bundle from the untied end. Trim the tassel so that the length matches up.
