- 1). Purchase and download the Lotus SmartSuite software package from IBM (see "Resources"). Save the downloaded file to your desktop. You may also order a media pack of CDs or DVDs with all the installation files included on them for no additional charge.
- 2). Run the installation program you downloaded. Double-click the icon for the Lotus installation program you downloaded to your desktop. Follow the instructions for any settings that may need adjustment for your specific spreadsheet and other needs.
- 3). Launch Lotus 1-2-3 from the "Start" menu under the "Programs" submenu and the "Lotus SmartSuite" directory. The name of your directory may differ slightly.
- 4). Enter data into the spreadsheet as you normally would.
