How Do You Know When Your Marriage is Over and it is Time Get a Divorce?

Many couples find themselves in the midst of conflict and struggle on a daily basis.
At times the level of effort they exert to keep the relationship going seems to outweigh the energy that is required to end the marriage.
How do you know when you are at then end of the marriage? Here are some warning sings that may indicate your marriage is over.
1.
The majority of your discussions end in a power struggle, raised voices or someone leaving the room.
The inability to get through a discussion without a raised emotional timbre is a definite sign of communication breakdown.
While this can occur in every marriage; even the healthier ones, it is the frequency with which this happens that serves as a warning sign.
2.
One or both of the partners arranges their daily schedule to avoid having contact and/or opportunities for communication.
Closing down the chance to talk, visit or physically touch one another by one or both of the partners on a daily basis discourages the chance to connect with each other, reduces the potential for problem resolution and can be an indicator that the marriage is over.
3.
There are unexpected changes in behavior by one or both of the partners.
This is a more subtle indicator but is easily discerned by the spouse who is sensitive to their partner's routines.
We are creatures of habit and our relationships are built upon expectations and predictable behaviors.
When one partner changes their routine by absenting themselves from family traditions or initiates a new routine that does not involve the partner, it is a clear sign that the more predictable nature of the marriage ground has been shaken.
Any one of the above indicators taken alone may not be a sign the marriage is in jeopardy but when all are taken into account and the frequency is added into the equation, it may be time to initiate marriage counseling to see where your marriage is headed and if the problems can be resolved by a professional counselor.
