Looking Good - Hair and Nails Check Lists
Your hair should be your crowning glory, but a poor diet, smoking, medication and too many late nights all show their effect.
So how can you keep your hair in peak condition? A good diet is fundamental, followed by a good haircut to show your face to the best advantage.
A good acid based shampoo is also worth the extra money.
When find a hairdresser you trust, who listens to what you say and cuts your hair in a style that suits you, stay with them! A good hair cut should last six to eight weeks before it starts to look out of shape.
If you are working in an office or have a senior position, hair that hangs over your face lacks credibility unless it is put up or tied back, and if you can't make time to go to the hair dressers before an important event, trying a different style is another option.
Gelling hair to make it smooth and putting it up could hide unruly layers and split ends.
If you have a good idea of the style you want, try and find a picture to take with you.
Alternatively, if you have no idea, ask to look at some magazines as they can give you inspiration.
Quick Checklist
False nails are very useful if you have trouble growing your own, but they weaken the nails when you have them taken off and they need quite a lot of attention.
Don't forget your toes! Toenails are not the most attractive part of our body, so keep them well scrubbed, and if you go without shoes in the summer, use a pumice stone to keep heels and soles smooth.
A coat of nail polish does wonders too.
Keep your feet in good condition by treating yourself to a pedicure occasionally, and visit the chiropodist if there is a hint of a corn.
Chipped nail polish is just as unsightly on toes as it is on fingers, so it's a good idea when you are watching TV or spending an evening at home, to re-polish at a time you are not about to put your shoes on.
