How to Decorate a Bridal Shower Cake

• 1). Ice the cake completely with a butter knife. White is a classic base frosting color for bridal shower cakes.
  
  
• 2). Fill the applicator with icing and outline the top and bottom edges of the cake. Use a different color frosting from the base frosting if you wish.
  
  
• 3). Use gel icing to compose a message on the cake. Write the traditional "Showers of Happiness," or create your own bridal shower slogan to wish the couple well.
  
  
• 4). Adorn the cake with cake toppers. Monograms of the couple's names and miniature frames with pictures of the bride or the couple are two ideas for bridal shower cakes.
  
  
• 5). Press hard or soft candy into the cake. Hershey kisses, Dove chocolates or Ghirardelli chocolates will all complement a bridal shower cake.
  
  
• 6). Finish the decorations off by tying a ribbon around the center cake topper or several toppers.
