How to Create an SBSettings Theme

    Theme Construction

    • 1). Create a folder on your computer. The name of this folder should be the same name that you want to use for your theme. Within this folder, create 10 more folders. These folders will hold the images used when an icon is either off or on. The names of these sub-folders should be as follows: "3G," "Bluetooth," "Brightness," "Processes," "Wi-Fi," "EDGE," "Fast Notes," "Phone," "Location" and "Data." There are many additional toggles that users can download from Cydia, and more complete themes will compensate for these additional toggles. Some of the more popular additional icons include "SSH," "Safari Downloader," "iPod," "Keep Awake," "Rotation," "SMS Alerts," "Auto Lock," "Vibrate" and "Volume." Creating folders for these icons is optional, but it is important to note that because the default images will be used when a custom image is not available, the theme may look awkward with a mixture of both.

    • 2). In each of your sub-folders place an image that you want to use when the setting is turned on and turned off. Use "On.png" for when the setting is turned on, and "Off.png" for when the setting is off. Ensure that both pictures have a 60-by-60 pixel ratio.

    • 3). For icons that do not toggle on or off, create three image files to accommodate a secondary window of up to three rows. Place these files in the main theme folder. Use "SliderFrame.png" for the first image file and make the pixel ratio 271-by-71. Use "SliderFrame2Row.png" for the second image file and make the pixel ratio 271-by-121. Use "SliderFrame3Row.png" for the third image file and make the pixel ratio 271-by-171.

    • 4). In the main folder, create three files to provide an image for the primary window. This window houses the icons contained in your sub-folders, and can subsequently be up to three rows long. For a primary window with only one row, name the file "BackgroundImage1Row.png" and give the file a 320-by-287 pixel ratio. For a primary window with two rows, name the file "BackgroundImage2Row.png" and give the file a 320-by-375 pixel ratio. For a primary window with three rows, name the file "BackgroundImage3Row.png" and give the file a 320-by-480 pixel ratio.

    • 5). For the buttons beneath the icons, create five image files in your main theme folder. Give each file a 30-by-30 pixel ratio. Use "Settings.png" for the "More" button, "Refresh.png" for the "Refresh" button, "Dock.png" for the "Dock" button, "Respring.png" for the "Respring" button and "Power.png" for the "Power" button. Because there are situations where both "More" and "Dock" cannot be used, you need to create a file named "SettingsNoUse.png" and a file named "DockNoUse.png" for these times. Create a standard "NoUse.png" image file for buttons that may appear later which cannot be turned off.

    • 6). For icons that come out for SBSettings after you have created your theme, you can create a blank image file to provide the icon with an image consistent with your theme. Place these icons in the main theme folder. Use "BlankOn.png" and "BlankOff.png" for the names of these files, and ensure they have a 60-by-60 pixel ratio.

    • 7). Create an image file to be used to close a window. This image will appear in every window. Name this file "Close.png" and ensure the image file has a 25-by-25 pixel ratio. Place this file in the main theme folder.

    • 8). Use OpenSSH to add your theme to the following folder in your iPhone: "Private/Var/Mobile/Library/SBSettings/Themes."
