How to Remove Glue From a CD
- 1). Lay the CD on a flat surface, glue side up.
- 2). Dampen a cotton swab in rubbing or isopropyl alcohol. Squeeze the tip of the swab to remove excess moisture.
- 3). Rub the cotton swab into the glue in a light back and forth motion. Due not press downward or apply pressure. By continuing to lightly rub back and forth, you safely and gently remove the top layer. When needed, dampen the opposite end of the cotton swab or a new cotton swab in alcohol. Do not reuse the same end of the cotton swab. Continue cleaning until the glue is removed. This may take awhile, depending on the type of glue.
- 4). Dampen a soft cloth with a small amount of rubbing or isopropyl alcohol. Rub the cloth into the entire CD surface for cleaning. Dry the CD with a microfiber cloth. This will remove all residue, dust and fingerprints.
